Clemton Park welcomes new shopping village

A new shopping village has opened in Clemton Park as part of a “masterplanned" community designed to respond to the local community’s needs now and into the future.

The Clemton Park Shopping Village is the long-awaited addition to the community, which has been integrated into a joint development between Frasers Property and LaSalle Investment Management.

The village launched with a free morning tea and ribbon cutting ceremony performed by Andy Sammut, representative for the City of Canterbury Bankstown alongside Uncle Chicka Madden, a Gadigal Elder who delivered the Welcome to Country.

Nova 96.9 broadcasted live from the event, which also hosted a series of community events and activities for locals, including jazz sessions, magicians, face-painting, jumping castles and live cooking demonstrations from My Kitchen Rules contestants Chris and Cookie.

Peri Macdonald, the executive general manager for retail at Frasers Property Australia, said that the village had the “doorstep convenience” of a Coles supermarket and a vibrant mix of local restaurants, shops and convenient services.

He added that the village was designed to celebrate the area's unique local flavour by providing a meeting place for friends, neighbours and the retailers themselves.

“That’s why the retail mix combines the convenience of Coles, health services and a wide selection of places to eat, with many businesses run by people from the local community," he said.

“Clemton Park Shopping Village is not just a place to shop – it will be used for a variety of community purposes to become a natural focal point for local people."
