Agency registers $20m in sales in Queensland

A boutique agency has had a tremendous summer season as both Australian and foreign investors flock to the Sunshine Coast.

Sunshine Coast-based ELITE lifestyle properties has already registered a whopping $20 million in sales in the summer months alone.

The agency believes the success is due to the confidence in blue chip water and beachfront property returning to buyers, not just in Australia but foreign investors also.

“Local buyers account for around 60 per cent of the market with 30 per cent coming from interstate, predominantly NSW and Victoria, while the remainder are from overseas, mainly New Zealand, Asia and the UK,’’ said principal Mark Unkel.

Mr Unkel went on to say that prices had returned to pre-GFC levels, highlighted in particular by a recent $2.075 million sale of a waterfront home; a record for the area.

Mr Unkel has been working in the area for 25 years, selling prestige homes in Minyama, Mooloolaba, Buddina and Parrearra – the suburbs that saw the recent $2.075 million sale.

“When appointing an agent the foremost important factor is their ability to negotiate on your behalf,’’ Mr Unkel said.

“You must have confidence in your agent’s capacity to negotiate and not simply drop prices to get an easy sale. ELITE offers a range of specialised selling structures to suit various time frames and budgets, plus an innovative and flexible approach when going to market,’’ he said.
