Construction of a shopping precinct is under way in a new residential development in Beaudesert, Queensland.
Oakland Estate, the region’s only master planned residential development, spans more than 339 hectares of land on which 24,000 new homes will be built. Prices start at $185,000 for land packages.
Oakland Estate is located in Beaudesert which lies about 60km west of the Gold Coast.
The development will provide much-needed community services to Beaudesert and boost the job market in the local area.
The newly constructed McAuley College, in Oakland Estate, will provide education for 850 students.
“As a father myself, I understand the importance of a good education and that’s why I have worked quickly to ensure that this school was one of the first projects to be developed at Oakland Estate, which is the right location for a new education facility in this growing town,” Oakland Estate developer James Robinson said.
“I want the first residents who live here to have the opportunity to send their children to a school within their neighbourhood and to be confident that they are learning in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility,” said Mr Robinson.
The development’s $38.5 million shopping precinct is expected to be completed by May 2017.
