Boutique Perth hotel hits the market

Sunmoon Boutique Resort Perth

Perth’s Sunmoon Boutique Resort has been listed for sale — unlocking an opportunity to secure a footprint in one of the city’s most sought after beachside precincts.

Situated approximately 100 metres from Perth’s renowned Scarborough Beach, the Sunmoon Boutique Resort is a four-star complex featuring 45 suites over two separate buildings.

The hotel commenced trading in 2000 and is positioned on a 3,035 square metre site with more than 60 metres’ frontage to West Coast Highway.

CBRE Hotels’ David Kennedy and Ryan McGinnity have been appointed to sell the property, located at 200 West Coast Highway, via an expression of interest campaign.

Mr Kennedy said the hotel benefited from a central position within one of Perth’s most revered coastal locations.

“The Sunmoon Boutique Resort is positioned to capitalise on the ongoing revitalisation and circa $100 million redevelopment of the Scarborough area, which is set to make it one of the state’s most popular beachside destinations,” Mr Kennedy said.

“The opportunity to acquire beachside real estate and a profitable hospitality operation is expected to be of strong interest to a range of investors including local, interstate and international groups.”

Mr McGinnity said the property’s mixed-use commercial/residential R160 zoning also offered an attractive development opportunity, with it enabling further development of up to 18 levels of hotel suites and apartments including cafes, bars and commercial uses (subject to approval).

“At this current time there are no major accommodation hotels on the market in Perth, which adds to the demand for this hotel,” Mr McGinnity explained.

The hotel, located a 15-minute drive from the Perth CBD, includes a 24-hour reception, gym and outdoor pool, restaurant and bar, function/meetings rooms and secure undercover parking.
