Talk about value-adding

Like to mix your art with your architecture? Here’s an investment property for you!

Good art is an investment, right?

Well, a three-bedroom cottage in the English town of Cheltenham combines that philosophy with the security of bricks and mortar. It’s being marketed on its association with the famous artist Banksy, whose Spy Booth mural features on one of the cottage's walls.

Other Banksy works have been known to sell for upwards of $US 200,000, so the sale price of £210,000 ($435,000 AUD) might seem a bargain.

However, the historically listed property is in desperate need of refurbishment, according to listing agent Peter Ball & Co.

According to Domain.com.au, the current owner David Possee has experienced constant attention since the mural appeared.

“If Cheltenham want it, they can have it. Just buy the building off me, I just want to get on with my life. Cut me free, you can have the Cheltenham Banksy,” he told a radio station earlier this year.
